Famous astrologer V.K. Sharma's forecasts, taken in tandem with the 1980 New Delhi Astrologers Convention, nearly came true. Predicting in Hint Weekly on September 17, 1970, Mr. Sharma said on January 1980 Mrs. Indira Gandhi would establish a new administration. Mrs. Gandhi formed the government on January 5, 1980 and certainly won the general elections with overwhelming majority. Earlier, Mr Sharma had said that following an emergency and with prospects of a new coalition government under Janta Party brightened, Congress would suffer serious defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. His forecasts turned out accurate. Leading the government shortly following an emergency was Morarji Desai. Using Mrs. Gandhi's life cycle chart, Mr. Sharma had projected in Hint Weekly her death on January 2, 1981. Mrs. Indira Gandhi passed on October 31, 1984, just two months before 1985 begins. He said that year 1985 will be crucial for her and advised "she must take every possible precautions." In his daily piece in Hint Weekly, Mr. Sharma foresaw several events both inside and outside of India on March 30, 1981.
